* Isaac manages to catch up to Ao and Kai. ~Hey! Where ya goin'?~ * Ao-Lang yells and jumps, spinning to face Isaac. "Don't *do* that!" * Kairi blinks a few times. "... ah, Isaac! We're going out for dinner... er, sorry we kinda forgot about you there..." Because he wasn't! ~Well, you could have at least told me? Left a message?.. Did you lose, Ao?~ * Ao-Lang says offhandedly, "He got lucky." She grins. "He's not gonna get lucky like that again." ~Heh. I keep telling you. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!~ Hah. Maybe I will, Ao. ^^ You didn't say anythin' like that, Shorty. ~Shh! You'll wake the neighbors.~ ... she's right, you know. * Ao-Lang snorts and turns to face the town. She spreads her arms. "So! Whatcha in the mood for?" ~Well, yeah.~ ... anything, really. But let's just hit a buffet or something. Any good Chinese places in town? ^^ * Ao-Lang eyes Kairi. "You don't eat Chinese in a buffet." ~I did! It was all soggy though.~ I eat quantity, not quality. --; But if you insist! After all, you're paying. * Kairi smirks just a weeeeeeeee bit more. * Ao-Lang eyes Kairi, then starts walking down the street. "Really, Chinese buffet, like cafeteria food," she grumbles. * Kairi whistles a little for some reason or another. ~Is there something wrong with cafeteria food?~ Yes. Not really, it's just bland. ~Oh, is that how it tastes?~ * Ao-Lang stops, takes a look around, and starts walking down another street, away from the immediately accessible part of the town. * Isaac follows/floats along. * Kairi continues along, all smiles and whistlin'. * Ao-Lang doesn't look back as she comments, "You're enjoying this, aren'tcha, Kai?" * Isaac 's eyes flash red for an instant. Maybe a little, but I'm really not gonna rub it in. I'm just kinda ready to eat. * Ao-Lang smirks. "Well, we're here." She stops and points at the restaurant, a modest, brick place. It isn't much to look at from the outside. "Cantonese good? Can you even tell the difference?" ~Nope! But I'm not eating anyways~ I really can't tell the difference when Mom and Dad cook, so I won't even try... although maybe you could teach me! Yup. Starting with biology. You made the worst impression of an awake student ever. * Ao-Lang leads the way into the restaurant. ... uh? * Kairi pauses, then gets it, frowns faintly, and walks in as well. * Isaac shrugs and floats in. * Ao-Lang grins at Kairi. "C'mon, think I didn't notice? If you're gonna sleep in class, at least look awake while doing it." ~Yeah. Or pay attention.~ Yeah, I bet you do. But do you know biology in your sleep? ... I know sleep in my sleep. -_- * Ao-Lang giggles. [The interior is well furnished. There's a bar on your left, and to the right behind a half-wall and a glass pane there's a number of tables. The hostess greets you and leads you to one of them. It's fairly busy, given its out of place location. That usually means good food.] [Average seating capacity is about one-hundered, seperated into fifteen tables. The food can be smelled from the kitchen, and it smells REALLY good.] ... oh, *man*, I'd fight you again just to have learned the location of this place. ^_^ * Isaac 'smells' the food. ~Man, that smells so good!~ * Ao-Lang grins. "I did some poking around last week. Y'know, looking for a good dance place that lets in minors takes you all over the place." * Ao-Lang grabs a menu and starts skimming it. * Isaac floats above the table. How much do ya eat, Kai? * Ao-Lang starts looking at nearby tables, gauging food. [A waiter comes by with a notepad.] "Have you decided what you would like?" I eat... alot. ^^; * Kairi sits down and looks as... contained as he can. ~Dude, he's gonna eat an elephant. And then some.~ ~Yeah, but they don't serve elephant here.~ ~Too bad.~ * Kairi ponders for a moment. "Er... Ao, mind suggesting something?" * Ao-Lang looks through the menu, wincing at the calculations going through her head. "Sesame chicken, half the chicken. Pork lo mein. And some sorta fish." She looks up at him, then back at the waiter. "Orange roughy. That's good, right?" [The nearby dishes have a considerable amount of food. The appatizers look the best, by far. It's a mix of Cantonese and American cooking, taking the best of both kinds.] Good enough for me. ^_^ * Ao-Lang peers at those. "And grab us one of the small samplers, while you're at it." * The waiter writes down the order. "Right away. Would you like anything to drink with that?" Just water, please. * The waiter writes that down and turns to Ao-Lang. Tea. And the water, yeah. * The waiter nods and writes it down. He picks up the menus. "Thank you very much. I'll have your drinks and appetizer out shortly." ~So, ya got fish, chicken, and pork?~ * Kairi resists the urge to rub his hands together gleefully. Yup. Steak and chicken on that sampler, too. * Ao-Lang puts her chin on her hand. "You'd better finish this. It's not like we got a fridge to put leftovers in." ~I think Mariah could come up with something. What do you wanna bet she has some sort of cold spell?~ She does. I saw it. Me, not finish this? Is that another challenge? I dunno if she can tone it down to not encase stuff in ice, though. Hey, Mariah the Kitchenette. * Ao-Lang shakes a finger at Kairi. "If I'm givin' you a challenge, you shouldn't need to ask." * The waiter comes by wheeling a cart along. On the top is an appetizer dish with two of each: crabmeat ragoon, eggroll, chicken stick, steak stick, and shrimp toast, among your two glasses of water and the tea. On the two lower levels are stuff for the other tables. * Ao-Lang nods and smiles at the waiter. "Thanks." * The waiter gives each of you a large plate, and puts the appetizers in the middle. He then gives you the water and tea. "Your welcome." * The waiter wheels off the cart to the other tables, taking and leaving dishes. * Isaac smells the food. ~Man, it's times like this I wish I could taste that stuff. People always say the better something smells, the better it tastes, right?~ * Ao-Lang takes one of the ragoons and shakes it at Kairi. "See, this is Americanized." She has a bite and grins. "Not like at home, but still good." * Ao-Lang nods at Isaac. "Unless you count preparin' crispy chicken. That smells awful." ... oh yeah. * Kairi wastes little time in attacking with a passion. It is indeed an awesome thing to see Kai eat. * Ao-Lang 's eyes widen and she makes sure she grabs a few of the appetizers before Kai yoinks them. [The food tastes really good, especially when compared to the stuff they give you in the BH cafeteria.] ~First come, first serve?~ ... *love*! I'm coming here as much as possible. * Ao-Lang laughs. "You can buy next time." Alright! * Kairi continues to pack down the vittles. *Scary*. * Isaac floats down a little and sits on the table. His had passes thru Ao-Lang on accident. * Ao-Lang idly munches on a chicken stick, watching Kai with a kind of morbid fascination. * Kairi proceeds to stop... pause... and drink rather politely from his glass of water. "Please, help yourself." * Ao-Lang finishes off the chicken and motions with the now bare stick to the empty tray. "You already got it." ... er. Whoops? ^^; * Ao-Lang snickers. "Well, we'll see if you finish the rest." You're on. * Ao-Lang snickers. * Ao-Lang takes her tea and has a sip. "So, where're you from?" * The waiter comes by with the three dishes you ordered. They all look very good. The chicken is sliced to look like it did before they cooked and sesamed it, head and all. The pork lo-mein looks excellent as well, and the orange roughy is breaded lightly in light 'gravy'. * Ao-Lang picks up the head with her chopsticks and waves it at Isaac. "Chicken head!" * Isaac covers his eyes. ~Gah!~ * Ao-Lang grins and sets the head down so it stares at the boys. o_o * Isaac floats up and sits on Ao's head. Hmmm... chicken! * Ao-Lang ignores Isaac as she puts some of each dish, along with rice, on her plate. * Kairi giggles a little. "I'm gonna eat you!" That said... Round 2 of Kairi vs. Food begins Thank you, Captain Obvious. * Ao-Lang eats more sedately. She bought most of this food for Kairi, after all. Mmmphmmhpp. ^^ So *that's* where you're from. Remind me to visit sometime. [The food, like the appetizers, is really good. Not *as* good as the appetizers, but by this point, you can't really tell. It's just so good.] * Kairi really couldn't tell, or perhaps in the sheer speed at which he eats, it really doesn't matter too much. * Ao-Lang wonders if Kai can actually taste what he's eating. What a waste. * Kairi returns to speaking capability. "Um, Ao... can I ask you something?" * Isaac blinks. Sure. Am I... er, kinda dull? I know I like to fight, but do I seem like I'm too into it? * Ao-Lang cracks up. ~Yes you are! Get some Red Bull. It'll let you grow wings!~ * Isaac smiles. * Ao-Lang gasps for breath. "Oh man. Are you too dull. Wow." ... I am? What do you care? * Kairi doesn't seem *too* surprised to hear that, but still. ... I dunno, really. Just would like to be more... y'know, normal. ~Woah! Normal does not exist in this universe, or any other.~ ~What you think is 'normal' is just a bastardized version of what the government *wants* you to think.~ * Isaac 's still grinning madly. ... I mean 'average teenager' normal, not 'fighting machine in the making' normal. * Kairi bops at Isaac, with no success. ~Dude, *I* was an 'average pre-teen' once, and look at where I ended up.~ * Ao-Lang pushes her plate to one side and leans forward, mismatched eyes staring into Kai's red ones intently. * Kairi pauses to semi-stare back, blinking a couple of times. The fact that you just asked me that question - never mind that it's the equivalent of asking for a tirade of verbal abuse - makes ya more "normal" than seventy-five percent of the Battle High student population. * Isaac 's brown eyes flash red briefly. * Isaac floats a few inches above Ao's head. W-well, I'm not really bothered must by words, but... I guess I just wanna try and be a kid for a bit. There's always room for fun between all the fighting. So? Have fun. ~Yeah, really. Read a book, play a game, kick some ass, chew some gum...~ ... alright. Just need to find out what kinda fun I can have. * Isaac blinks a few tims at Kairi. ~Have you ever had fun before?~ * Ao-Lang rolls her eyes. * Kairi pauses, then steals himself a few final bites. True to his word, the meal's pretty much demolished, although the chicken head's still there. "I love playing soccer, but there's no field at the school, as far as I know..." * Ao-Lang picks up the head and tosses it onto Kairi's plate with her chopsticks, just to see if he'll accidentally try to eat it. There's fields. You can draw something up. * Kairi snaps the chicken head up... and balances it on his chopstick-tips idly. "... you've got a point." ~Yeah. And if I recall correctly, there's a bunch of clubs here too. I'm sure one of them has something you're interested in.~ * Kairi nods. "... oh, and Ao? Thanks for showing me this place. I owe you one." * Isaac keeps his gaze away from the chicken head. Funny how a cooked chicken head would scare him, yet he has no probelm disecting stuff. * The waiter comes by again, and places a bill on the table. "Just take it up to the register when you're done." * Ao-Lang takes the bill and winces. "Sure." She looks up at Kairi and nods, then back down to the bill. That bad? Not for the States. Or where you're from. I just go by the yuan, y'know? Weak currency. * Isaac kinda frowns. * Ao-Lang gets to her feet, bill in hand. "No helping it. Next time, you're goin' down, Kairi." She smirks over her shoulder at him. I welcome the challenge... ohman, time to stand up. * Ao-Lang walks off to the register, paying the bill. * Kairi gets to his feet after a moment and stretches a little. "Getting up the mountain's going to be murder." * The hostess takes your money. "Thank you, have a nice evening you two." * Isaac floats behind the duo. Thanks. Great place. ^^ * Ao-Lang gives her a small bow. "Have a nice evening." She heads out the door. * Isaac 's eyes flash red, and he grins. * Kairi waves and tags along. "... so, should we put another wager on the next fight, or is it just for bragging rights?" ~Ao-Lang doesn't do anything without betting. You should know better.~ Oh, another wager. But we can make it when it happens. Next week? ~Hey, don't forget to invite me next time! I wanna see this.~ Next week it is. And deal, Isaac. * Ao-Lang smirks. "Yup. Witness Kairi gettin' his ass kicked." * Kairi glances towards the school. "Now about that mountain..." * Ao-Lang walks for the mountain. "Sometime, try going up in a skirt." ~Nah. I can't very well make good sketches of you if I don't see you in action.~
