* Mariah is the first person into the cafeteria, though she can dimly hear slow
footsteps as people begin their journey to the food.  Breakfast this morning is
very standard, eggs, sausages, pancakes, and mixed fruits.
* Mariah gets breakfast hurriedly and makes for a table.
* Karasu is the -second- person into the cafeteria, for eggs, sausages,
pancakes, and mixed fruits!
* Karasu arrives and gets all of the above. Except eggs. Not in an egg mood
today.
* Mariah seems mostly to be going for the pancake and fruit options, herself.
* Oddly, the next person through the big main doors is the all too familiar
Tulpa, who stares for a moment at Karasu with that green-glowing eye, then
proceeds to the serving line to get himself two large plates of food.
* Karasu passes his eyes over Tulpa only once, then proceeds to a table when he
has his food.
* About half a minute later, the rest of his team catches up and starts through
the nonexistent line.
<Mariah> .. does something feel really weird to you, or is it just me?
* Tanisha Opie, the OTHER dark-type in Wukong 102, stops briefly behind Karasu
as she passes and says softly, "Excellent work on the shadow wusses.  I'll see
YOU in the finals."
* Karasu shrugs and eats.
* More students start filtering in as breakfast continues and classtime gets
closer.
* Mariah eats. She's trying not to look a little distracted, but she's failing.
* There's even more talk than normal going on this morning, presumably abuzz
about the tape of your fight.
* Karasu says as he eats, "It'll probably be like this for a while."
* Clinton sits down across from Mariah and smiles happily as he says, "Good
morning."
<Mariah> -- good morning! How are you doing?
<Clinton> Just beautiful, mostly.  I had some Icy Hot last night, that took care
of the last of the lingering aches from the beatdown.
* Mariah nods. "I'm glad to hear it. How's the rest of the team?"
<Clinton> Angry, mostly.  Especially Kale and Sekmet.
* Clinton looks at Karasu for a moment and says softly, "You better watch your
back for the next few days, I think Clay's still gunning for you."
<Mariah> Geez, still? I assumed he'd calm down.
<Clinton> Clay's never really calm.  What do you expect from a school named
Angry Rhino?
* Clinton rolls his eyes.  "Berserkers are such a pain to live around."
<Mariah> Oh, yeah, I have to imagine...
* Karasu makes a 'mmm' noise and continues to eat.
<Clinton> He doesn't take losing well, but he's too stubborn to back down.
<Mariah> Well, I hope he gets his head together. As much as an Angry Rhino can.
* Kento flumps down into the seat across from Karasu.  "Morning."
* Karasu nods to Kento as he eats.
* Marcie sits down a moment later next to Mariah, way too perky for this time of
the morning, and say cheerily, "Good morning, Mariah!  Good job yesterday, I
hope we do as well this afternoon."
<Mariah> Morning, Kento! And hi, Marcie! Who are you guys fighting?
<Marcie> Tecumseh 101.  Greg and Noreen said if we stick to the plan and don't
screw up, we'll wipe the floor with 'em."
<Karasu> Good luck.
<Mariah> Oh, yeah, you guys should do just fine. Where are you fighting?
<Kento> On the mountain slope.
<Marcie> Yeah, the hardest part of this fight is going to be fighting the
mountain.
* Mariah nods and keeps up working on her pancakes. "That sounds hard. We'll
have to get the tape to see what your plan is."
<Kento> Yeah, Noreen threatened to turn Marcie loose on me if I breathed a word
of it to anybody.
* Karasu grins, but only briefly. Could just be your imagination.
* All parties dig into breakfast, as class is coming soon.
<Mariah> So when will the fight tapes be available? This one I want to see first
thing.
* Kento quickly swallows the pancake in his mouth and says, "Shouldn't be but
five or ten minutes after the fight ends.  The peps do fast work."
* Marcie chimes in from beside Mariah, "Yeah, and if you can find space on the
wall, you can watch from there, too.
<Mariah> Cool. I'll try, if I can find the time.
<Karasu> Perhaps.
* the crowd in the cafeteria stablizes as people begin to flow back out for
class.
<Mariah> But we should go and get the rest of our team. Good luck, guys! And...
good luck with everyone else, Clint. I hope it gets better.
<Clinton> Hey, we'll pick up fourth place, relax.  You guys just worry about
yourselves.
<Mariah> Okay -- and yeah, we should go get Ao and Isaac...
* Mariah stands up.
* Karasu finishes his meal and also rises.
<Clinton> Have fun, and remember to watch your back, Karasu.
<Karasu> Used to it.
