[The front doors of Battle High are wide open, this being a fairly nice autumn day. Not quite beautiful, but whatcha gonna do? There aren't many people in view as Karasu walks quickly out the doors heading in a line straight towards the main gates, and those that are there mostly decide that it's not something they want to pay attention to.] [mini... start!] * Karasu does wander, and quickly. But he manages to keep an expressionless face as he goes. For him, that's a piece of cake. * A cloud slides between Karasu and the sun. * Karasu glances up, briefly. Seems to fit the mood. * There's actually a cloud there, and no odd surge of power. It might just be the real deal. * Karasu shrugs it off and turns his attention back to going... er... somewhere. Where was he going? He stopped to consider that. * Karasu continues on, at a slow pace. He cups his chin in thought. * The gates, currently closed, loom over Karasu. * Karasu looks at them. Then his gaze trails up, and along the ramparts, following the walls as he tries to find a way up. * There's no easy way up, most students just jump up to the top whenever they want a view. * Karasu isn't one of them, so he settles for walking the perimiter instead. * There are a few people sitting quietly, studying in the shade of the wall as Karasu walks along. * Karasu glances at them out of the corner of his eye, idly, as he goes. * There are a pair of sophomores just coming up, they look to be studying chemistry, if the book is any guide. * Karasu watches them curiously. Sophomores are so... not-Freshmen. * There are two. Both of them are dark haired boys, and are wearing fairly expensive versions of "street" clothes, one mostly in black and brown, the other in a white shirt and brown pants. They don't appear to be particularly worried about Karasu's presence. * Karasu returns the favor, and continues on his way. Although he does try to catch names if they come up. * They don't come up, unless one of them is named "Sodium Nitrate" * Karasu assumes not. See, look at THIS page. I bet if we tried, we could make some fulminate of mercury. * Karasu isn't much for chemestry, and doesn't know what fulminate of mercury is. It must be pretty hard to make, though. * The pool building, now repaired, looms ahead. * Karasu wonders that way. * The pool is open for business, but it doesn't have much in the way of traffic flow. In fact, nobody goes through the doors, in either direction, for as long as it's in Karasu's view. * Karasu looks inside. Could be a good angsting spot. * Inside, Karasu can see nothing but the lobby, and the entrances to the locker rooms. * Karasu considers taking a seat in the lobby and mulling over his latest problem. Instead, he decides to continue walking around campus. * As Karasu passes the far corner of the pool building, he feels a flare of power from behind the pool, between the pool and the main wall. * Karasu turns, taking a step back in surprise. He stares towards the spot, trying to pick out whatever is doing that. * Whoever it is, it's out of sight, back behind the pool. * Karasu goes to investigate, against his better judgement. He tries to sneak over without looking like he's trying to sneak over. * A large boy, if you can still call him a boy, he's got to be at least seventeen, stands in a wide stance, blocking the alley behind the pool. He's dressed in designer clothes, dark grey on black, and his eyes are closed as he draws in power. * Karasu approaches him! More in the open. He doesn't speak first, though. * The boy's eyes pop open a moment after Karasu turns the corner, and it's hard to tell what shade they are beneath the red glow. * The boy watches Karasu for a moment, then says, [What do you want?] * The sheer amount of power that washes over Karasu with those words is staggering. * Karasu stops about twenty feet away, trying not to stagger at the words. "What do I want? You called me." * The boy sneers. [Leave, freshie. Before I decide not to let you.] * Karasu shifts his weight. "You don't like me being here?" [You do not matter to me. You are insignificant.] * Karasu blinks. "Insignificant?" He folds his arms and smirks. "Then you won't mind me being here." * The boy's eyes narrow, the red glow growing more intense. [I told you to leave.] * Karasu grins and is about to respond, when suddenly he falters. He rubs his forehead and, after a few seconds, turns and leaves. Almost staggers. * The boy smiles, Karasu can feel it. Then he says softly, [Wuss] * The building of power resumes behind Karasu. * Karasu whirls around, clenching his teeth and fists. He crosses his arms in front of himself, and nearly unleashes a Raven Wing at that smug little twit... And then stops, almost as though in shock. This time he DOES run out of there, probably looking like a coward. * At the speed Karasu runs out of there, it takes about five seconds to hit the corner, and he has to decide... through the wall, over the wall, or turn? * Karasu choses over the wall! * One quick hop up onto the wall, and then down onto the mountainside, and it's all there before him. THe city waits below, pale in the noon sun. * Karasu gazes at the city, then glances up at the castle before starting down, in the vain hope that whatever's been bothering him will stay with the school. [Mini... end!]
