[The way to Feld's place is just like you remember it, and the yard is just the same too. It hasn't quite been a week, so you didn't expect much change, and it's met your expectations. The plants are still very plantlike.] * Harold walks up to the front door and knocks. Even if it's open, it's polite to announce oneself... * Feld's voice comes from within, slightly muffled. "Come in!" * Harold steps inside. "Afternoon, Feld... I was wondering if I could ask for a moment of your time?" * Feld turns around. He's holding a small tray with two cups and a steaming teapot. "Certainly." ... you knew I was coming? * Harold blinks in surprise. It's a gift. * Feld sets the tray down on the small table and takes a seat. * Harold is suitably impressed, and will take a seat next to the table if there is one to be found. * There is a seat waiting for Harold, as a matter of fact. * Feld pours two cups of tea. It smells like minty cinnamon apples. * Harold takes a drink, as good tea is not to be refused. "Well, I was wondering... do you have any idea where my friends and I could go to buy some sort of horse and cart? We've got a long journey east to go on, and it seems a good investment...." * The tea is very relaxing. In this town, no, I'm sorry. Horses are somewhat hard to come by. You would do well to get horses, though a cart may not be the best idea. * Harold frowns. "I'll keep that in mind... is there a nearby town that would be good to visit?" Crossroad, to the north, always has a supply of horses, for most purposes. They're on the main caravan route, so it pays to have horses there. Oh, thank you very much... my second question, could you tell me anything about the road east? We're going to follow the road and circle around the mountains, but my friend who's training as a woodsman suggested it might be good to know the lay of the land in more detail. Well, if you go east from Crossroad, you'll hit Gap keep, which sits right in the middle of the pass. From there, there's one small town right on a river, and then Gateway. ... Gateway! Gateway's a good place to find... well... pretty much anything. Hmm... thank you, I'll remember this. Don't worry about it. How are your prayers coming along? * Harold takes another sip of tea, then frowns. "I've been praying every night before I sleep, and my faith has been serving me well, but... the power you talked about, it hasn't come to me yet." I can't help but feel I'm doing something wrong, and just don't know what it is. I remember saying the same thing when I was a little acolyte. Perhaps you're just in the wrong frame of mind. It's certianly possible. I'm really not sure what the _right_ frame of mind would be. It's frustrating, I want to help the others more and I just can't. You have to stop wanting the power, for one. If you're faithful in thought and deed, then you can draw upon the power of your god. Always remember, they're not your powers, not your spells. Not... hmm. Maybe that's been my mistake. It was so easy to compare it to Tiffany's magic... There are a lot of ways to stray from the path. * Harold nods and sighs. "So true. And it's hard, being without any proper churches for Him... I guess it's a test." Everything is a test. * Harold nods again. He is very quiet as he finishes his tea... [Think this is good? He'll just say good-bye to Feld and leave after this.]
