The current empress of Rokugan, Iwane III only rarely leaves the sanctity of the capital city, holding most of her own winter courts in the forbidden city itself.
The empress has followed the example of her father and grandfather by spreading her heirs widely across the clans for training, taking a light hand, at best, in their rearing, though unlike the previous emperors, she chose several less prolific schools.
The empress bore seven children, two of which have already died, possibly to the curse rumor says is on the Iwane line. They are:
Iwane Tategami, trained as an Ikoma Omoidasu.
Iwane Kawa, trained as a Tsi Smith.
Iwane Yuuki, trained as a Mantis Courtier.
Iwane Suta, first of twins, trained as an Asahina Shugenja and Daidoji Iron Warrior.
Iwane Hogo, second of twins, trained as a Doji Courtier.
Iwane Tabi, trained as a Soshi Magistrate.
Iwane Attakai, trained as an Isawa Shugenja.
