He/him

Shrewd, Garrulous, Unfashionable, Driven

Deceased. Former magistrate, adopted father of Kitsuki Umi. Served as yoriki to Moto Yasemin during the War of Two Suns when he was just past gempukku. Later appointed an Emerald Magistrate, served in both the New Territories and in the Empire proper. Eventually retired to a clan magistrate position. His husband, brother of Umi's mother, died in the same spring fever that took Umi's parents. Adopted Umi in his old age as a protégé, heir, and helper. Died recently; most believe it to be natural causes due to his advanced age but Umi suspects foul play.

Made a number of enemies during his active career, though many are long dead themselves. Left extensive files behind about his investigations and studies. Before his passing, was re-examining a number of journals from his time in the New Territories, eventually focusing on ones dating all the way back to his time as a yoriki.
