As of leaving Shiro Kaiu, the team had 7 boxes of normal style, which enabled traveling to Toshigoku and Yomi.

In Ryoko Owari Minku acquired an exact duplicate of an existing box, but with the inverted style described by Bal, and which Minku sussed the name out as exactly the same as the duplicate box, but 'rotated 180 degrees moonward'. We are referring to these as 'Thrane'.

At the first major boat stop up the river, Minku found another box of normal style, and Umi discovered another box of Thrane style, neither of them exact duplicates of a currently held box.

However, the only additional 4-pattern gained from those 3 was that the duplicate fit into the existing Toshigoku pattern. This version of Toshigoku had, in part, a Thrane battle. Returning with the normal boxes appeared to be a return to a normal Rokugan.
