Big Boar Energy
The squad was going a little off the beaten path to investigate and, at an inn found out about a once-in-a-generation boar hunt. That evening Asahina Misao had a vision of a large boar, over two stories high, crushing a Matsu castle, along with a small earthquake that woke the party. One explanation later, and the party set off towards the local castle.
When they arrived, they found a castle in full swing of boar hunting but, to Umi's eyes, one lacking its full complement of samurai and when asked, the daimyo had confusion in their eyes +of the non-natural sense. Nezumi Minku hinted to look for more clues as to the reality of the situation, but wasn't exactly clear about it. As the investigation continued, the spirits of the animals were registered to be furious over their skinning, as Soshi Shinju found, and the body of what was supposed to be a dead peasant was clearly found to have the tattoos of a Matsu Samurai. The party immediately attempted to go to the location of the hunt, and when they got there, found an unreal temple, an unreal forest, and writing with the confusion of nonsense: a subtle portal into yume-do. The place where the non-samurai had died lacked the swords Kitsu Coffee was looking for, and the prints of the beast that had ripped the samurai apart hadn't clearly came from that portal. Asahina Misao was also able to briefly change her form in dreams, but leaving dreams she returned to her current Ningen-do body.
On returning to the castle, Soshi Shinju directed the kami's eyes at the corpse and found that they didn't recognize it as a body at all! In the meantime, Kitsuki Umi pressed Nezumi Minku on her nervous hints, which she remained a bit squirrel-y on, but upon bringing the records of the castle up, a clear discrepency was found: the daimyo's name was distorted, like dream writing, unable to be read: the current 'daimyo' was actually just the captain of the guard. Nezumi Minku finally stepped up and performed some ritual over the body and the distorted ledger, and came back from it weary and claiming there was no ongoing influence, that this new state of the world just was what it was.
At a bit of a loss, Kitsuki Umi has decided to go with the idea that there is not an ongoing threat at the castle and that the portal should be dealt with. The Soshi brought up the Kitsu and while the Matsu said they would be sending for a Kitsu as they guarded the possible portal, Asahina Misao had a vision of a Kitsu along their path, at the next major city. +
